The School Engagement Programme (SEP) is In2MedSchool’s Newest Initiative

This free programme aims to deliver information about healthcare professionals, primarily focusing on the career of a doctor and the journey to medical school, through in-person visits to schools across the UK to speak with students through the ages of 12 to 18 years old.

These visits will allow us to provide students and staff with previously inaccessible resources and guidance about the complicated medical application process, allowing us to level the playing field, whilst also increasing awareness about how the activities of In2MedSchool’s other divisions can support these students.

All of our visits are delivered by a team of medical students and doctors, and each visit is organised by our team of SEP Coordinators who volunteer their time to liaise with local schools, deliver these in-person visits, and support the next generation of medical professionals.

Our Work

We focus on delivering in-person visits to schools across the UK to speak with both students and staff about a career as a doctor and the pathway to medical school.

Last academic year, during our unofficial pilot year, we were able to visit 30 schools in-person with a very small team, and we aim to continue that work through our new programme. These in-person visits take the format of presentations, workshops, careers fairs, and informal Q&A sessions, and are delivered by a team of medical students and doctors. These sessions aim to support aim to support school students who are interested in a healthcare career, specifically focusing on medicine, or those who may not yet have considered a career in medicine, by providing key information, insight and resources to both students and staff.

We hope that these sessions will help to make the medical application process as transparent as possible

whilst explaining how In2MedSchool can help.
